INSTRUCTIONS: Burn charcoal on an open flame until coal turns bright orange/red. (Note: gas stove or torch lighter recommended)

Use tongs (not provided) to remove coal from flame and place into the uncovered burner. (Note: DO NOT USE YOUR HANDS as coal will be EXTREMELY hot once activated)
